Here are 10 of my favorite spots to visit in San Diego, California.
Mount Soledad – Beautiful sunrises and great inland and partial coastline views in La Jolla
Mount Helix – Walk or drive to the top in a few minutes and take in the great views or sometimes a special event in La Mesa
Ocean Beach – Visit the tide pools at low tide, walk on the pier (it is currently closed for repairs), take in a sunset and visit local shops
Pacific Beach pier – See the sunset or catch a wave through the pier in San Diego
Oceanside pier – See the sunset and the beautiful coastline
Mission Bay – Watch lights dance on the water after dark or go boating or skiing in the sun, bring a net and play volleyball, etc.
Coronado Beach – Cross the bridge and enjoy one of the cleanest beaches in the county
Mission Beach – Watch a volleyball game or some skaters, cruise up and down the boardwalk, visit beachfront shops, rent bikes, play games at Belmont Park or sunbathe
Julian – If you like apples you’ll love Julian’s apple pies in season (stop by Dudley’s Bakery on the way for freshly baked bread and pastries)
Mount Laguna – Forget snow skiing in San Diego, but after it snows visit the mountains for a snowball fight, stay in a log cabin overnight or ride tubes and sleds down snowy hills
